scanner.jpg (17455 bytes)

The ECLIPSE Tm dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) system from Norland is the uncompromising choice for bone densitometry.

Comprehensive capabilities:

The system's advanced software performs all important measurement and analysis functions at the touch of a button, including:

*AP Spine
* Femur Forearm Lateral Spine
* User Defined Special Regions
* Reference Populations
* Patient Trending Small Subject
* Research

Dynamic filtration (automatic exposure control) is used to minimize radiation dose and optimize precision and accuracy. This technology is found only on Norland DXA bone densitometers and provides the best accuracy and precision over the broadest range of patient sizes. Intermachine variations are typically less than 1 %.

Precision The ECLIPSE Tm has the most advanced patient management capabilities available. The combination of patient positioning aids, laser marking system, and intelligent scanning assures highly reproducible exams.

 Installation and operation:

Uncomplicated

Compact size, high throughput, and simple operation make the ECLIPSE TM ideal for clinical settings.

Designed for small areas ECLIPSE TM fits easily into a small exam room (1.9 x 2.2m/6 x 7 ft.) or a mobile van. No special power or radiation shielding is required.

Easy to use

Even those new to bone densitometry find the ECLIPSE TM exceptionally easy to operate:

*Simple, single-stroke menu-based software.
* Pre-programmed scan protocols.
* Mouse-driven operation.
* Automatic quality assurance program with in-built daily quality control checks.
* Reliable performance, day after day.
* 'Quick' and efficient

Patient throughput is enhanced using QuikScan TM technology: Improved scan times:

Scan Type         Time

AP Spine           2 min.

Femur            3 min.
femur scan.jpg (5610 bytes)

Forearm       3 min.

* A large scannable area 90 x 64cm - which expedites patient placement on the table and enables combined AP Spine and Femur studies without moving the patient.
* Latest, most powerful personal computer processing and printing capabilities.
* Dual detectors.
* Dynamic filtration.
* Color coded reports:

Message from the MEC/OBD president:

"As president, I have committed my company to providing medical facilities with "state-of-the-art" bone densitometry equipment to help them do a better job with preventing, testing for, screening for, detecting, diagnosing, and treating Osteoporosis which ravage so many women and men. Our diagnostic equipment will speed up the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of Osteoporosis and osteoporotic bone disorders in men and women. The key to preventing Osteoporosis in women and men is early detection, diagnosis, and treatment. This means measuring, testing, screening, detecting, and diagnosing low bone mass in women and men early in their lifetimes so that effective treatment can stop the Osteoporosis dead in its tracks." Together, we can help protect families from this terrible disease.

Sincerely,
Mark Piening
